Our School
The Montessori Children's House of Peoria first opened its doors in 1977 to twelve students. It was the dream of Head Mistress Pat Meredith to offer the Montessori method of education to the children and families of the Peoria area.
Throughout the more than 30 years of the school's operation, hundreds of children have attended the school and all of the staff has been privileged to work with many wonderful families. We now occupy eight classrooms - twice the size of our original occupancy. Though we have grown so much over the years, the Montessori School of Peoria still preserves a one-room schoolhouse feel, making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Today we have children who attend through the sixth grade.
We are also privileged to have teachers who average over 10 years of tenure between us. Ours is truly a dedicated and loving group who are dedicated to the Montessori method and its applications. We look forward to many more years of serving the children who come to us and their respective families who support and encourage us. We envision more to come!
